Will Man United taste yet another defeat in the PL, this time against Brighton?

Man United take on Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League this weekend as they look to pick up their first league win of the new season.

Last weekend, they quite surprisingly went down 3-1 at the hands of Crystal Palace at Old Trafford but according to Michael Owen, Ole’s men should be able to recover from that loss and register a win vs the Seagulls.

He wrote for BetVictor: “Brighton were impressive in their 3-0 win away at Newcastle last weekend with a couple of Neal Maupay goals in the first seven minutes setting them on their way to a comfortable victory.

“Young Tariq Lamptey enhanced his growing reputation with another stand-out performance at right-back and Brighton will be delighted to have got their first three points on the board in just their second game of the new season.

“On the other hand, Manchester United were very disappointing in their opening match of the new campaign and looked lethargic and distinctly off the pace in their 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can point to a lack of rest and preparation time between the end of last season and the start of this but he will be expecting much more from his team and I expect a fully-fired up Manchester United to come away from the South coast with all three points.

“I’m going with a closely fought 1-0 victory to United.”

Man United have played one game less than the other sides since they along with Manchester City got an extended break due to their involvement in Europe last season.

Hence in theory, they still have a small window to catch up with the top-six clubs. But to do that, the Red Devils will need to ensure they pick up a win vs Brighton at any cost.

The home side go into this game at the back of a fine 3-0 win over Newcastle United so clearly, they will have a spring in their steps when they take the pitch on Saturday..

So players like Fernandes, Rashford and Paul Pogba need to ensure they take the centre-stage as quickly as possible and kill the threat.
